Why does downloading texture pack in minecraft take forever

Most the respectable texture packs will strive to keep their packs virus-free, because one of the worst things any respectable modder wants is to be branded a malicious hacker with poisoned downloads. I will note that if you have a decent, up-to-date anti-virus program (even the free ones like AVG & Avast) will scan your downloads for viruses. No! It will come up and say things like downloading it but it won't! I don't have it installed! I deleted the file so I could see if it works. It's gone from my texture folder and cache texture. I am allocating roughly 6 GB of RAM to Minecraft. . #4. If you have other processes running, a texture pack, added mods, etc. it will take substantially longer to load the modpack. Modpacks take longer because they're loading more stuff. If you're doing more during this it will take longer. Similar to trying to load 10 tabs on your browser at once.
